Meadow Valley Community Church
Ministry Vision
Introduction
“We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and
teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man
complete in Christ.” – Colossians 1:28
This booklet summarizes the ministry vision of
Meadow Valley Community Church (MVCC).
This vision 1)
reminds us of who we are as a church (2 Pet.
1:12-15), 2) gives us a common, shared purpose which is helpful for
us all to be on the same page going in the same
direction, and 3) is a commitment to one another at MVCC for
increased communication to the body as to
exactly who we are and what we teach. This booklet explains the way
we at MVCC live out the vision of the Bible
(Colossians 1:28; et al) in pulpit preaching, pastoral care, small
groups, Sunday School teaching, and our
ministries to one another, our community, and the world.
Church elders have been given the important, joyful,
and biblical task to keep watch over the souls of the Body
(Hebrews 13:17). In light of this, we
have prepared this booklet to summarize the ministry vision of MVCC.
We desire MVCC to be God-honoring and
Christ-centered by studying God’s Word, the final authority over our
theology/doctrine, worship, ministry
methodologies, and personal and corporate life together.
Therefore, it is
crucial that we teach through the entire Bible
in an expository way (i.e. – in such a way that the meaning of the
Bible is presented entirely and exactly as it
was intended by God). Anyone who aspires to be in leadership
and/or teach at MVCC must affirm and adhere to
MVCC’s “What We Believe and Teach” statement, Covenant
of Fellowship, and other documents included in this
vision booklet.
This is an exciting time at MVCC because
of the work God is doing in people’s lives.
Every Sunday morning we
worship together in song, prayer, and studying
the Word of God. There are
small group studies and prayer
groups where people’s hearts are exploding with
love for God. There are people participating in missions on the
local and international level, both short-term
and long-term. Benevolence needs are being met in our church and
community with the love and compassion of our
Lord Jesus Christ. Our
children are being taught and instructed
in the Lord through Sunday School, youth group,
and AWANA ministries.
Individuals in the body regularly seek
out unbelievers to share the gospel of God in
boldness, grace, and truth.
Our deepest desire is for this booklet to
be of some assistance in furthering the Kingdom of God
through MVCC
in this community.
To that end, in humble obedience, we as Elders desire to serve
and glorify our Lord.
Your Servants in Christ,
The Elders of MVCC
